good night punpun vol 1 created by Inio Asano details the life of punpun, a japanise middleschooler and his escapades with his friends, a love interest, complex family relations and climatic 3rd act. This books got it all baby!
I will come right of the bat and say the book is a delightful read, i thoroughly enjoyed Inio Asano playfull use of contrasting character design. one moment you will have punpun a very cartoony (and what i assume to be a bird) character put right next to a photographic afro head,(who is god by the way) into the manga.

but don't let the appearance fool you this book is a heavy hitter with the feels factor... well it hit me with the feels factor anyway. It manages to deliver quite deep and heartbreaking scenes but its cartoonish look never seems to get in the way of its weight, but bizarrely encourages it. as the author dances around the concept that the cartoony characters are just imaginary friends reminisces in all that childhood nostalgia, that kind subtly really wraps this manga in thematic layers that all resonate harmoniously.
