After looking at youtube artists I admire i found a lack of engagement with their own online mediums to find inspiration on how i should conduct my own media practices.
Ahmed Aldoori – (wide reach also has a store and a Soundcloud)

(Aldoori, n.d.) 1

(Aldoori, n.d.) 2
He uses his website more as an online portfolio and link to his shop.

(Aldoori, n.d.) 3
His Instagram is more informal just snaps of projects hes working on or sketches. uploads 1once a week.

(Aldoori, n.d.4)
His shop is mainly bundles of sketches or high quality digital paintings I was surprised by the lack of merchandise not even a T-shirt of is work is present
Aldoori has a consistant high quality of work uploaded to all media platforms not only this its unnoticeable if he posts the same content to two same platforms he seams to use each to its and his own strength.
Sinix Design – (store has murch not just prints)

(Twitter.com, n.d.)
Twitter is a good thing to have for a starting artist to interact with artists and promote your works.

(DeviantArt, 2002)
this is Sinix's main hub for large finalised works this is a good template to follow if you do not wan the hassle of create a fully realised website and just an upload space for a portfolio, with the added benefit of being able to actively engage in an artistic community. Alowing your work to travel a little further than just a website.

(YouTube, n.d.)
most of Sinix youtube content is digital illustration tutorials and tips. i couldn't recommend this route as a artist trying to break into the industry, as i believe viewers tend to take tips from individuals prevalent in there industry or demonstrate a few years in the illustrative work place, on the other hand his speed paintings would be a video idea i would personally do as they tend to be quite popular and show off your penmanship. Uploads every 1-2 months.

(Instagram.com, n.d.)
his Instagram is relegated to sketches and moderate to finalised paintings with a pinch of fan art this is a really good template i believe to follow if you wish to create an art Instagram. with his method you can upload constantly using sketches as filler materials or to tease an upcoming project.
Sycra - blog

(YouTube, n.d.)
his focus seams to be put into his youtube sice he has been uploading consitantly for the past 12 years, average 15 vids a year and having the bigist subscriber base about tripple of sinix or Aldori.

(CrispyTees, n.d.)
Sycra's store is probably the most effective used the overall diversity of merchandise is impressive. but appears to be generic. a good starting off point but i think to push his own brand further perhaps website exclusive 'designer' content, such as a tailored jacket inspired by one of the more popular characters at a more premium price point say £120 since the price range for the entire store is £12-£40.
In comparison to Aldoori the number of prints being sold is quite reduced i believe this weakens the overall effectiveness of the store as a source of income, Since if you are an artist your main product would be your artwork. But perhaps like Joe Mad the store is not a large part of Sycras income and he earns more money from freelance work. Making him a good example of having both sources, but perhaps if you were to do this yourself it would be good to have an assistant run and update the store.

Sycra's
Comparison

(Socialblade.com, n.d.)

(Socialblade.com, n.d.)
I went ahead and compared all three artists youtube statistics young Social Blade which is certified by youtube. as you can see Scryas got the biggest numbers for subscribers but its actually Sinix who is earning the most out of his youtube content but that could just be due to having an above average month throwing the analytical data to predict bigger numbers.

(Socialblade.com, n.d.)
As you can see the massive spikes for Sinix's subscriber count but might not necessarily translate into more money in the future, such is the finicky nature of prediction algorithms cant accommodate for trends. So do not take these charts as literal but as a guide to look at what each of these individuals do for content on there channel. If you so wish to youse youtube as a platform.
It should be noted that all of these artists have a Patreon which differs to Joe Madureras online presence and i thought its worth a mention as a source of income for new artists. If you have the time to commit to it, it's worth working on exclusive content for patrons as an incentive to give more money.
All of these artists I feel have excellent examples of how you should conduct and use social media, I know I will take inspiration from there social media habits and I believe that anyone reading this who wants to have a carrier in the arts should take note of these individuals.
But, as a comic illustrator myself I feel I should look into comic artists and how they conduct themselves on social media. Which will be in my next blog post as part of my second year of university module The Industry Today.
